乞丐皇帝传奇

Original title

The story begins with myth: the Fire Dragon God is reincarnated into the Zhu family, and his family names him Chongba—none other than the future Zhu Yuanzhang (played by Kenny Ho). A thousand-year-old turtle is reborn as Chen Youliang (played by Li Zhixi), and both men fall in love with their junior martial sister, Pei Yao (played by Tien Hsin). Although Pei Yao's heart belongs to Chongba, she is tricked by Chen Youliang's scheme and marries him instead. Chongba, meanwhile, encounters the Yuan dynasty's Princess Mingxia (played by Yang Lijing); the princess loves him deeply, and the two genuinely fall for each other, yet the vast gap in their social stations keeps them apart. Zhu Chongba then meets Ma Xiuying (played by Su Yijing), and with the strength of the Ma family army, he joins forces with Chen Youliang's troops to fight the remaining Yuan forces. In the end, with the help of his generals Xu Da (played by Song Damin) and Chang Yuchun (played by Ding Yangguo), Zhu Chongba wins the final victory and marries Ma Xiuying. Princess Mingxia, after giving birth to their child, leaves the Central Plains, and the two lovers are denied the chance to grow old together.
