Original title

Li Guilin, commander of the Second Battalion of a unit stationed in the special zone, went to the TV station on a weekend evening to meet his girlfriend Xu Na, but the unit suddenly received orders to fight a flood. The Second Battalion became the advance force in the flood relief effort and was airlifted to Jiangchuan City, located in a perilous section of the Yangtze River. Political instructor Zhong Tao was on leave but immediately returned to the unit upon hearing the news. The troops headed straight for Shuanghe Wan, where they rescued the people trapped by the flood, the preparatory students from No. 9 Middle School who were about to take the college entrance examination, and the female teacher Chu Tianjie. The flood crisis still threatened Fenghuang Yuan in Jiangchuan City, and diverting the floodwaters was imminent. However, with "termites" like Zhai Jianye and Gao Sheng, the flood-fighting soldiers faced choices between life and death. Through this trial, Li Guilin gained a new understanding of his outlook on life and his values.
