浮华背后

Original title

The story takes place in a coastal city. Du Xinping (Song Chunli), the head of customs, hates evil as if it were her enemy. She wants to use the case of her subordinate Zhou Haibin (Wang Jia), who broke the law for personal gain, to thoroughly investigate the smuggling operations of the syndicate led by Gao Jinlin (Sun Honglei). Unexpectedly, because an internal traitor leaks information, all her efforts come to nothing. To bring Du Xinping down, Gao Jinlin stops at nothing and carries out all kinds of schemes and plots, but Du sees through each one. The cunning Gao then turns his eyes to Du's son, Luo Liang (Lu Yi). Because his parents divorced, Luo Liang has always harbored a grudge against his mother, and now his work unit is also doing poorly. Gao Jinlin prescribes the right remedy for the illness and draws him into the smuggling gang. By the time Du Xinping discovers it, it is already too late. Gao uses Luo Liang's smuggling of prohibited goods to threaten Du Xinping, and also provides evidence to frame her, landing her in prison. Kou Jie (Li Renyi), a surgeon, was once Du Xinping's old lover. He tells Luo Liang that his mother's imprisonment is purely the result of someone else's frame-up, and Luo Liang resolves to clear his mother's name. So Luo Liang has the surgeon Kou Jie perform facial plastic surgery on him, and he begins his own plan for revenge...
