降妖罗汉

Original title

Unlike *Journey to the West*, *The Demon-Quelling Arhat* is not the story of Tang Sanzang and his three disciples traveling to the West to obtain the scriptures, but of Tang Sanzang alone. What remains the same is that on his journey to obtain the scriptures, he likewise encounters various setbacks and calamities, and when facing hardships and demons, Tang Sanzang transforms into the demon-quelling arhat, wielding boundless power in a life-and-death struggle against the demons. After three years and eight months of arduous travel, he finally brings back the true scriptures.
