阳光下的法庭

Original title

Bai Xuemei, president of the Provincial High People's Court, is assigned to hear an environmental pollution case. The plaintiffs' attorney is suddenly involved in a car accident, leaving the burden on the shoulders of a young lawyer, Lu Ming. The defense attorney, Ning Zhiyuan, was the prosecutor in the rape and murder case against Lu Ming's father, Zhang Danian, years earlier. Meanwhile, Bai Xuemei's husband, university professor Yang Zhenhua, is falling into a trap set by the defendant, Han Zhicheng. Bai Xuemei withstands the pressure and rules against Han Zhicheng. Yang Zhenhua's OW project is brought to court by an American company on grounds of patent infringement. The American side loses the first instance and hires Lu Ming as its attorney to appeal to the Provincial High People's Court. Bai Xuemei recuses herself from the case in accordance with the law. The High People's Court's second-instance ruling overturns the first-instance judgment. Yang Zhenhua is deeply shaken. Lu Ming discovers suspicious points in his father's case and decides to appeal on his father's behalf, with Bai Xuemei's support. A fugitive is arrested and confesses to an old case from years ago that closely matches Zhang Danian's case. The Supreme People's Court Circuit Court retries Zhang Danian's case, and Zhang Danian is declared innocent. At the Provincial People's Congress, Bai Xuemei summarizes the court's reforms and receives praise from the delegates. Through a public recruitment examination, Lu Ming enters the Provincial High People's Court and becomes a judge.
