Original title

In the final years of the Qing Dynasty, the imperial treasury's official silver was stolen. Qiu Fushun, an overseeing official of the Ministry of Works, was singled out by Empress Dowager Cixi to investigate the case. Honest and upright, Qiu Fushun偶然 discovered the secret behind the silver theft from the imperial vault and was preparing to draft a memorial to the throne. But Qiu's actions alarmed the tangled network of high court officials. Chief Steward Pang, in league with Lord Gui, sent Sun Qi to assassinate Qiu Fushun, with orders to leave no one alive. That very day, Qiu Fushun's young son, Huzi, had just turned one hundred days old and a grand banquet was being held, when the assassination struck and the family home was set ablaze. Only Huzi was saved by the benevolent physician Qi Daren, and from then on they withdrew deep into the mountains, where Qi Daren quietly raised Huzi, teaching him medicine and martial arts. Twenty years later, Huzi has grown into a man and taken the name Qiu Yin (played by Chen Haomin), appearing before the Rong residence as a young physician. After twenty years of change, the chief steward of the imperial treasury has become Lord Rong. Yet Lord Rong (played by Lei Kesheng) suffers from a stubborn ailment that leaves all physicians helpless. Qiu Yin, however, is able to give Lord Rong some relief, and so Qiu Yin takes up residence in the Rong household. Sun Qi, the man who killed his father, was kicked in a vital area back then and has been unable to father children ever since. The first person Qiu Yin must find is Sun Qi. Lord Rong has two unworthy sons, and has recently married a young woman from Xinjiang. Qiu Yin falls in love with her, only to discover that she too has entered the Rong household for revenge. Qiu Yin must not only take revenge but also uncover the long-hidden secret of the imperial treasury. Yet many of the old clues have been broken. Can he follow the trail and finally discover the truth?
