我的妈妈是天使

Original title

In a contemporary city, Caiwei and her husband Jiang Jinyu are raising a son and a daughter. Their twelve-year-old son, Xiaoqiang, has mild intellectual disability, and their six-year-old daughter is named Xiaoya. Jiang Jinyu dies in a car accident, leaving Caiwei to raise the two children alone. Caiwei is diagnosed with pharyngeal cancer, but she forgoes treatment in order to leave the little money she has to her children. She looks for a special school for Xiaoqiang. Because of her health, she is repeatedly turned down when she applies for work. Caiwei returns with her children to her hometown. On the Lantern Festival after the New Year, Caiwei collapses once again. Examinations reveal that the cancer has spread, and she has only three months to live. As word of Caiwei's illness spreads through the small town, people move from doubt and speculation to sympathy and help. When Xiaoqiang and Xiaoya understand that their mother will soon leave them, they try every means they can think of to hold on to her, hoping she will never go. Despite her deep unwillingness to part from them, Caiwei ultimately leaves her children forever. In her final moments, she entrusts each of them separately: Xiaoya will go with her grandparents to a big city to build a future, while Xiaoqiang will remain in the small town. Caiwei passes away peacefully, resting forever in the embrace of green mountains and clear waters, silently watching over the children she loves.
