荡寇

Original title

In early 1938, the Japanese army invaded the Shandong Peninsula. A box containing important Japanese military secrets was being transported through Yidu County when it was seized by the patriot Gongsun Xian, who was then hunted down by Japanese agents. On his deathbed, he entrusted the box to Yang Baoguo, the master of the Yongxing Martial Arts Hall. Master Yang vowed to protect the box with his life and was killed by Japanese agents. Yang Erhu, burdened with both national hatred and family vengeance, swore to avenge his father and defend his country. Inspired by his elder brother Yang Dalong, an underground Party member, by the progressive student Xia Ling, and by Gongsun Yu and others, he gradually came to realize that individual resistance against the Japanese was too weak, and that only by relying on the Communist Party could China be saved. Erhu inherited his father's dying wish to resist the Japanese and save the nation, matching wits and courage against Colonel Okamura in a desperate struggle over the box, and gradually uncovered the secret plan by which the Japanese sought to develop a highly toxic biochemical weapon. In the end, he foiled the Japanese scheme and successfully destroyed their biochemical weapons research base at Sheshan. Yang Erhu became ever more determined to defend his country, grew steadily on the path of resisting the Japanese and saving the nation, and gloriously joined the Communist Party of China, becoming a true revolutionary fighter.
