Original title
Nodame Cantabile: The Final Score is a Japanese film based on Tomoko Ninomiya's manga Nodame Cantabile. Produced as a two-part sequel to the television drama series, it was directed by Hideki Takeuchi (Part I) and Yasuhiro Kawamura (Part II), both of whom made their feature film directorial debuts after having worked on the drama's direction. In the first half of 2010, Part I ranked second and Part II third in Japanese box office revenue. Filming took place not only in Japan but also abroad, in France, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Austria. New cast members included Shosuke Tanihara, Takeshi Nadagi (The Plan 9), and Chad Mullane, while many local actors were cast in foreign roles. The Louvre-Marlet Orchestra was played by the Brno National Philharmonic Orchestra; the Beethoven Symphony No. 7 at the film's opening and the performance at the Musikverein were performed by the Hradec Philharmonic. In the orchestra scenes, members of the Brno Philharmonic and the Hradec Králové Philharmonic Orchestra, among others, participated as extras. As in the drama, the Nodame Orchestra also appeared as extras in the role of the R☆S Orchestra members. Nodame's piano performances were handled by the Chinese pianist Lang Lang.
