保卫孙子

Original title

Wang Tingting, the Zhou family's daughter-in-law, safely gives birth to a grandson, nicknamed “Gangbeng'er.” From that moment on, an all-out “battle for the grandson” erupts, with the paternal grandmother, Su Mei, as its absolute central figure. But the maternal grandmother, Ma Daling, is also a force to be reckoned with. When it comes to her grandson, she is fiercely possessive and dotes on him in all the wrong ways. The paternal grandfather, Zhou Zijian, finds his life reduced to eating his grandson's leftovers and walking him to and from school ever since the boy was born. The maternal grandfather, Wang Mantang, is an honest man whose habit of backing down even when he is right only earns him his grandson's contempt. As for raising her son, Tingting believes all control and decision-making power should rest with her. She hopes her husband, Zhou Xiaoyi, will team up with her from the inside, but he all too often still acts like a big kid himself. As the saying goes, every family has its own troubles. Amid one fierce battle after another over the grandson, everyone comes to appreciate the value of family affection and the importance of harmony. In the end, all are grateful for this experience of “enjoying the pain,” for it is in itself a joy, a happy life that makes one feel young again.
