This drama is adapted from the life of Hong Kong artist Anita Mui. Born in Hong Kong, Mui (played by Chen Wei) sold songs from a young age alongside her mother (played by Juan Zi) and older sister (played by Jin Yuting) to support the family. Encouraged by police officer Liu Jiahua (played by He Gang), Mui enters stardom through a talent contest. In the entertainment industry, she meets newcomer He Yaowen (played by Huang Haoran); the two spur each other on and support one another, ultimately forging a sincere friendship. In time, Mui becomes Hong Kong's ever-changing diva, and her love life becomes a favorite topic for the media, but the bold and chivalrous Mui never abandons her fundamental principles. Just then, misfortunes arrive one after another: first her older sister dies of cervical cancer, and then He Yaowen, by then a superstar, also passes away in the prime of life, nearly crushing Mui's spirit.
