沸腾的群山

Original title

This drama is based on a true story and stays close to ordinary people, unfolding around the theme of "the transition of a resource-exhausted city." At the end of the last century, the Wanshan Special District in Guizhou faced an existential crisis as its mercury resources ran dry. Feng Baiyang, a third-generation mercury miner with a strong sense of responsibility and mission, attempted a transition to restore the mine to its former glory, but was ultimately unable to withstand the tide of state-owned enterprise reform, leaving 20,000 workers in desperate straits. In 2008, a once-in-a-century freezing disaster struck, sending the hearts of the people of Wanshan to rock bottom. Leading local officials and residents, Feng Baiyang forged ahead with gratitude and hard work, driving the primary, secondary, and tertiary industries forward in tandem. Grounded in technological innovation and green development, they achieved a successful transition, enabling a depleted city to rise from the ashes and turning the dream of innovative development into reality.
