食神

Original title

In the television drama 食神, Shi Jiacai has spent more than twenty years living carefree, lording it over the villagers as director of the Xiangxiang Processing Factory, a herb-processing plant he took on only because nobody else wanted the post. After his father, the factory owner, dies choking on a fish bone, the division of the family property turns the village against him. For a trifling gain, the villagers reveal that he is not the owner's biological son but a foundling picked up by the roadside and named Shi Ti. Left unwelcome and abandoned, he faces the ruin of the life he knew.
