Original title
In the early 1960s, Shaoxing Opera master Liu Lingtong won the admiration of audiences at home and abroad with his brilliant performances and solid command of the stage. As the saying goes, like father, like son: Liu Lingtong's son Tianxing lived up to his father's expectations and became an outstanding performer in his own right. He stepped in onstage at age three and performed in Beijing at age eight, playing a little monkey so vividly and convincingly that it seemed utterly real, earning praise from Chairman Mao and Premier Zhou. It was during this period that the name Little Liu Lingtong quickly spread far and wide. Yet fate is unpredictable, and this prodigy of the opera stage suffered the cruelest blow of his life. In the prime of youth at sixteen, leukemia mercilessly struck Little Liu Lingtong. He could only entrust his dream of revitalizing traditional opera to his younger brother Tianlai (Liu Xiaolingtong)... The series won Best Children's Serial at the 14th Feitian Awards and the 12th Golden Eagle Awards.
