Original title

Psychologist Magdalena Borska returns to Poland after several years abroad and takes a job at a hospital. On her very first day, she must contend not only with her patients' problems but also with the hostility of the entire medical team, especially Andrzej Stomma, the chief of surgery. The hospital staff hide from Magda the trauma they have been carrying since a failed rescue effort six months earlier. At that time, a shopping mall and cinema caught fire. Several dozen severely burned victims were brought to the hospital. Most of them could not be saved, and Jan Sowinski, one of the hospital's best surgeons, was accused of malpractice.
