(ENGLISH) There are films that don’t try to impress, but to stay with you. This is one of them. From the very first minute, it’s clear that this isn’t about showing off or chasing big moments. It’s about time — how it passes, and what it leaves behind in an ordinary person and in everything around him. It tells the story of a simple life, shaped by work, nature, love, and loss, with a calmness that quietly changes the way you look at things. The story moves without haste, jumping from one moment to another the way memory does. There are no underlined messages or grand speeches, just scenes that linger because they feel deeply human. The best moments and the worst ones coexist without hierarchy, as they do in real life. What is gained and what is lost carry the same weight, and that honesty is one of the film’s greatest strengths. Joel Edgerton is outstanding. His performance is restrained, quiet, almost humble, and precisely for that reason it becomes devastating. He doesn’t need to explain himself or force emotion: a look or a small gesture is enough to understand everything his character carries inside. Around him, the world changes, moves forward, modernizes, while he seems to remain slightly out of step, clinging to a way of life that is slowly disappearing. Visually, the film is beautiful. The cinematography turns the landscape into something alive, almost emotional, and every frame carries a constant mix of beauty and melancholy. Nature is not just a backdrop; it’s an essential part of the story, a place where memories find refuge and where pain also gathers. Everything flows with a serenity that isn’t cold, but deeply moving. And just when it seems there is nothing left to say, the ending arrives, accompanied by a Nick Cave song that perfectly seals the experience. It doesn’t aim for an easy punch, but it’s impossible not to be moved. It’s one of those films that makes you cry not because of what happens, but because of everything you’ve felt along the way. A delicate, beautiful, and profoundly sad work in the best possible sense. Cinema that understands an entire life can fit into small moments — and that, when told with honesty, that’s more than enough to break your heart.
